Thank you to all the parent support during the first few weeks of school!  Temple Leavell for graciously volunteering to be my PTO parent partner.  And all the ladies that helped with KG the first 2 weeks so that we could get the self-portraits done and stayed after to help cut tracers and styrofoam...Crystal Whetzell, Monica Huseby, Jayme Ryan, Michelle Romero and Temple Leavell.  You ladies saved the day!  Square 1 is well almost done, one more class or two to go!  Upcoming projects include 5th grade Printing Kente Cloth, 4th grade Picasso Faces (an oldie but goodie), 3rd grade Positive/Negative Space Designs, 2nd grade Russian Nesting Dolls (thank you to Mrs. McDonald for letting us borrow the ultimate nesting doll), 1st grade Kandinsky Inspired Trees, KG Rainbow Fish!

Special thanks to everyone who made it out to the Art Show last weekend.  5th graders are working on a musical instrument collages, 4th graders are working on Rainbow Dragons and starting stained glass Rose Windows, 3rd graders are finishing their Matisse Goldfish drawings, 2nd graders are making tissue paper Butterflies, 1st graders are making Blue Ridge Mountains and starting 3D bag fish, and KG graders are working on Color Wheel Clowns. 

It's that time again to start new projects!  5th grade-Plaster Masks, 4th grade-Pocket Pots, 3rd grade-Coil Pots and Overlapping Birds, 2nd grade-Secondary Color Kites, 1st-finishing The Starry Night Glue Painting and starting Perspective People and KG- Pumpkins.

The Square 1 art projects are finished!  If your child had to finish up at home, please make sure it is returned by October 16th!  We have started the following projects:  5th grade-Surrealistic Hands, 4th grade-Wayne Thiebaud inspired Cylinder Cakes, 3rd-Oil Pastel Solar Systems, 2nd grade-Printing, 1st-Clay Sea Horses.
